Erik began sculpting 25 years ago. In the spirit of installation artists like Paulo Wernick and Pablo Lehmann, the inspiration for his current line of work is the effort to combine two and three dimensional elements. Although not bearing similarity to either Wernick or Lehmann, after spending years working with stone, Erik wanted to develop wall hung relief pieces that contained thoughts and images which might otherwise have been subjects for canvas. There is a blend of Northeast Coast, Southern California, and still life. The effort is to find and combine materials that lend themselves to the subject.

Erik has lived throughout New England, New York and Southern California. He currently resides in Central New Hampshire. His work can be found in galleries along the Maine Coast.
